Time for a little maintenance and a bit of a dust off. Checked all the site links and updated where necessary. A few tweaks to the texts to bring them up to date. B'n'T has also launched a patronage service. Although there is no longer a web store for purchasing product, there is a way for people who download from this site to offer monetary compensation if they feel the material deserves it.

A new web release has been added to the SOLO audio section for Finch 'n' Chimps, a collection of ambient pieces based on various field recordings. This is now available for free download.
Also, some updates to the Phudge Packerz web site with actual group pictures added. This project is the main focus of work at the moment with several new tracks in the works as well as a video in production.
Outside of the above, the main thrust of recent activity has been in compiling and processing video material for future editing and assembly into proper releases. All the back catalogue of B'n'T video productions have now been archived to DVD and new footage is being compiled for new compositions. Plans for the remainder of the year are to focus on this area.

The past few months have been busy with work being done to assemble facilities for video & DVD production. Various software and hardware was required in order to put in place production, post production and DVD authoring & duplicating tools. These then had to be tested and debugged until, finally, things have arrived at a point where some actual work can be done.
To that end, production has just been completed on the first official B'n'T DVD release. This work, Negative, is a 57 minute ambient work constructed from found photo negatives discovered in the trash by a "street kid". These photos appear to be from the 1930's or possibly earlier and seem to have been taken at various locations in the Vancouver area. This production is now available for purchase (see the CATALOGUE page).
With these resources in place, it will soon be possible to offer other video titles on DVD for the first time ever. Selected works will be reviewed over the course of the next year for possible release. Also, these facilities will allow some sample video files to be added to the site for downloading. Expect to see samples of these before the end of the year.
Music wise, a new collection of ambient recordings is currently being assembled based on field recordings done this year. This work should be completed by mid summer and is to be titled, Finch 'n' Chimps. Also, some new material has been posted on the Phudge Packerz web site.

After a few months of dormancy, there are some interesting new developments to go through.
Firstly, a new audio release has been added to the SOLO section. Negative is a 56 minute ambient recording produced as a soundtrack to a video work in progress of the same name. This soundtrack is now available for download. The video is currently being finalized (pending the acquisition of a few bits of software) and is expected to be completed by some time in March or April. Once finished, it will be available for purchase from this site.
This year should see more video materials made available now that equipment has been acquired to produce, edit and copy DVDs of a suitably compatible nature to warrant distribution. Much of the B'n'T video catalogue has already been rescued from analogue limbo with the exception of 3/4" productions which require locating a U-Matic player. You may also expect to see some limited video files added to the site within the year so you can actually have a chance to see samples of these works.
B'n'T has also launched an official web site for the Phudge Packerz. While still in a fairly rough state, this should also develop and grow throughout the year. Plans are to have a finished collection of recordings by this group by the end of the year.

Blood 'n' Tongue has been dormant for a while as the web site has been undergoing a face lift behind the scenes. Some major changes to the look plus some new content. All the MP3 archives are still available and have been added to with the web release of a new collection of ambient recordings called TV. This new collection was produced late in 2003 and is based on audio source material drawn from randomly sampled television broadcasts.
In addition, a new collaborative project, The Phudge Packerz, has been introduced to the site with a few audio files now available for download. Plans for future recording projects are also currently underway, but the specific direction of these is yet to be determined.

The B'n'T web site has undergone a bit of a facelift. It's a new look with a bit of new content. Added the following:
Links Page, new release - The Big House, web sampler. There are also 69 full length, high resolution MP3 files available in the Solo sections.
Blood 'n' Tongue is currently focusing activity on raising awareness of the material available here through a campaign of posting to various newsgroups and web groups. These posts will offer access to a variety of sample audio files in order to allow visitors to check out the material available and decide on further directions of exploration.
Two campaigns are currently underway. One is to offer an exclusive web only sampler album free for download from this site complete with cover graphics for those interested in printing personal copies of the collection. The second is to post a "song of the week" from the archive to further expand awareness of this material.
Work will also begin on a new collection of recordings which will focus on purely electronic sounds generated by various virtual synthesizers. The intent is to use no samples of real world sounds, but to utilize only sounds synthesized within the computer. The direction of the compositions is intended to be primarily rhythmic in nature.
